Since its inception, The TCC has actively worked to entertain, promote, and encompass all aspects of photography.

The club encourages members to share their photographic knowledge through fellowship and friendly competition.

The Tidewater Camera Club, in Easton, Maryland is a private, non-profit organization that was founded in 1963 by Frederick A. Curtis, Louis Coffin, Lowell Thompson, Doris Reid and C.C. Harris.

When founded, in collaboration with the Academy of the Arts in Easton (now called the Academy Art Museum), the TCC was viewed as an autonomous activity of the Academy. Although the two entities are now seperate and distinct, the TCC continues to work with the Academy to improve photography in the region.
